The Canadian Home Builders’ Association (CHBA) is actively working to increase women's participation in residential construction, especially in skilled trades where they currently make up just 5–6%. Through its national Women in Residential Construction Council (WIRCC), launched in 2025, CHBA supports over 260 women across Canada with mentorship, networking, and advocacy.

The initiative includes local programs, employer resources for inclusivity, and campaigns like “No Trade Offs” to inspire more women to join the field. With 40% of off-site construction roles held by women but far fewer in trades, CHBA sees expanding female participation as key to addressing labour shortages and building a stronger, more diverse housing sector.
