Who should be a Member? You should!


Membership consists of non-profit and for profit businesses and individuals who are renovators, sub-contractors, suppliers, developers, builders, service professionals, media, financial organizations and government agencies who participate directly or indirectly in the residential housing, building & renovating industry. The Association is run largely by volunteers that dedicate their time and invest their expertise to act at the local, provincial & national board or committee levels on your behalf. This is your association and there are many important and meaningful ways to get involved.

Why join an association?

Being a member of a professional or trade association is an important way businesses can work together to make sense of the legislative environment. One of the clearest benefits of association membership is advocacy – strength in numbers. By representing the business and professionals in a given industry or trade, associations are able to approach government at all three levels with a strong, united voice. The insights and involvement of association members is a valuable resource and research tool in the development of sound public policy. It's amazing to see the diversity of personalities, talent and ideas that come together to make up an association!

Business Networking Opportunities

We host dinner meetings featuring guest speakers; it's a great way to rub elbows with other member businesses and discuss what's happening in our industry and share information, ideas and knowledge. Attendance for two representatives per member business/organization is included in your membership. National conferences are also held on an annual basis.

Education and Training Opportunities

CHBA BC offers affordable online training for your convenience, check out their website for a list of the courses available and your local office will keep members apprised of local opportunities. Check

Customer Recognition

Consumers care that you are a part of a professional organization. Being a member shows your outstanding commitment to quality, service and stewardship in our community. We provide you with promotional materials to identify your business as a member (graphics for print and web, window cling, membership card). CHBA (at all levels) continues to work robustly to provide branding recognition for its members.

Advertising Opportunities

There are a number of ways to promote your business or organization: participating in the annual Home Show to showcase your business to tens of thousands of potential consumers, customers and clients, as well as advertising opportunities in themed publications such as the annual ‘Membership, Resource & Buyers' Guide', in addition to events such the Northern BC Home & Garden Show, Northern Building Awards and the annual golf tournament.

Industry Representation

The Canadian Home Builders' Association works vigorously to promote our industry and lobby on issues that matter at the local, provincial and national levels.

What's the cost?

One fee for representation at all three levels: Local, Provincial, & National

Our fiscal year starts on July 1st and ends June 30th each year. Membership Dues are only $1150.00 + GST annually and may be made in three equal monthly payments.
